  Friendly staff, nice view, and homestyle cooking -- a nice place to stop during a road trip. The food quality depends on who's in the kitchen that day, and can range from delicious to disappointing. If you have problems, don't be shy and let them know.
  
  I prefer to stop here instead of up the road in Julian just for the more relaxed atmosphere.

  The setting by the lake is awesome. We have been coming here for years before or after hikes in the surrounding area. A good meal at a decent price!

  The restaurant was closed when we were there but the lake was amazing. Beautiful, peaceful, comfortable. Enough area for everyone there to fish. The island was a beautiful walk, water is blue! There's a bridge that is picture perfect. We saw eagles, deer, and ducks/geese. Very nice. I'll be back.

  Service is realllly slow. They look at you like you're stupid if you ask questions about the menu. For example, there are no hours listed for breakfast, but they handed me a menu where half is breakfast food. One would assume it's served all day if you don't bother to put serving hours, and you give it to customers after 11am (which is, apparently, as late as breakfast is served; even on weekends). I ordered the same burger as the person next to me, and the server seemed annoyed I wanted a different side... Because then she had to write out another line. Funny thing is, I didn't get what I ordered. Nope, got fries even though I said potato salad. I would've asked for what I ordered, but we'd already waited over 30 minutes for the food, so I was hungry. This place isn't worth the money if that's the kind of service you get for a $13 burger. It came with a sorry looking piece of lettuce and yellow tomato. Wish I'd taken a picture...

  We stopped for an early lunch with our two grandchildren a little after 11am on Monday 12/2616. Since this business does not have an email contact I guess the complaint will have to be made publicly. We were informed that we could NOT order lunch as they were still making breakfast. Ok, no problem. Kids ordered pancakes which when I tried to cut them up for them they were so tough that I wound up tearing them apart with my hands! Disgusting. My order of 2 eggs with hash browns was cold plus 2 tablespoons of hash browns for the price was a joke. Half finished with the meal and our cold, hard toast arrived.
  This is not the first time that we have experienced substandard food at greatly inflated prices. We will not recommend this business and certainly will never stop again. Oh, by the way this meal was over $50.00!
